BIG things happening at the biggest little mountain in the state
A triple chairlift to McCauley’s summit will replace the 1970's era Hall double chairlift. Thanks to ORDA, Gore Mountain and all volunteers involved for gifting us the Hudson Chair!
The Good News:
The project is running on schedule and the new lift is slated to reopen for the start of the 2024- 25 ski season!!
The not-so-good news:
Since the existing chair is being removed to accommodate the new lift, there will be no scenic chair lift rides for the summer / fall 2024 season.
It is a temporary loss, but a huge gain for the future of McCauley Mountain
MOUNTAIN ACCESS: Due to construction, access for Mountain Biking will be allowed only to the trails to the west side (Mac’s Back area) and the cross country - Maple ridge trails. For safety and liability concerns, bike and pedestrian and pet traffic will not be allowed in the construction area or on Challenger, Rambler or adjacent trails on McCauley's east side. Please keep your dog’s safe and away from construction vehicles and activity! Heavy equipment cannot stop on a dime!
Please heed all warning signs and barricades through this construction period.
Mountain bike trail access will be limited due to construction of the new chair lift. Mountain Bike trails will be closed at the base of the mountain- no traffic will be allowed in the construction zone. Access to trails will be on the west side of the mountain (Mac’s Back area). Road Trip will allow access to other trails but there will be no exit to the parking lot on the east side near the base of the lift. If you go in on Road Trip, you will need to turn around, climb and go back the same way.
