McCauley Mountain Uphill Traffic Policy
With “Earning Your Turns” becoming popular in the ski industry, McCauley Mountain has decided to embrace this trend and welcome all!  For the safety of employees and guests, please review the new Uphill Traffic Policy.
Uphill Traffic (any guest travelling uphill not using a ski lift or tow) must…
·       Be in possession of a current season pass, uphill season pass or single day ticket
·       Use only designated uphill routes and descend only on open trails. The current uphill route is going up the left side of Challenger trail and ascending the left side of Upper God’s Land Trail.
·       Use extreme caution and AVOID mountain operations equipment such as snowmaking equipment, groomers, and snowmobiles. Failure to do so may result in loss of the Uphill Traffic privilege.
·       Yield to all downhill traffic.
·       Have a headlamp if recreating at dawn or dusk.
·       Have proper brakes or restraining straps on all equipment.

Other provisions:
·       McCauley Mountain reserves the right to close uphill traffic at any time.
·       For pet safety, no pets allowed on the ski slopes.
·       Anyone accessing McCauley Mountain ski trails outside of normal operating hours assumes risks associated with the activity.  No emergency patrol or aide is on duty or available outside normal operating hours.
·       No uphill traffic is permitted prior to the seasonal opening of McCauley Mountain for skiing and snowboarding.
·       Hiking on the ski slopes is not permitted.
·       We recommend checking the snow report before recreating at our facility.

BE AWARE- SKI AND RIDE WITH CARE  Warning to skiers and snowboarders: downhill skiing and snowboarding, like many other sports, contains risks including but not limited to the risk of personal injury, including catastrophic injury or death, or property damage, which may be caused by variations in terrain or weather conditions; or surface or subsurface snow, ice, bare spots or areas of thin cover, moguls, ruts, bumps, other persons, rocks, debris, branches, trees, roots, stumps and other  natural or manmade objects that are incidental to provision or maintenance of ski facility in New York State. NYS law imposes a duty on you to become apprised of and understand the inherent risks in the sport of skiing and snowboarding, which are set forth, so that you make an informed decision on whether to participate in skiing, notwithstanding the risks. New York State also imposes additional duties upon you, to which you must adhere, for the purpose of avoiding injury caused by any of the risks inherent to skiing. If you are not willing to assume all of these risks and abide by these duties, you must not participate in skiing at this time.
